Turn your shower into a spa experience

Turn your shower into a spa experience

Spa sessions are great when it comes to destressing after a long day at work, but they can be expensive and your schedule might not be cut out for it. But if you still desire a luxurious experience that will wash away your worries, why not do one up for yourself from the privacy of your own home?

1. Clear your bathroom

One of the biggest elements of a relaxing spa is the ample amount of free space they feature. You can have that same experience too if you clear the clutter that has been sitting in your bathroom for goodness-knows-how-long. With the mess gone, you will have a bathroom that is instantly more spacious and less of an eyesore, regardless of whether you’re prepping for a soak, or simply doing your business.

2. Use essential oils

One of the first things to hit your senses when you walk through the door of the spa is almost always the smell. Aromatherapy is one of the many tools a spa brings to bear when it comes to cultivating relaxation, and there’s nothing stopping you from doing the same at home! Simply place essential oils such as lavender or chamomile into a diffuser and let that luxurious fragrance work its magic. In a pinch, a spritz of your favourite perfume works just as well!

3. Warm up your towels

What’s better than a good soak in your bath? Warm towels to help dry yourself off. Most spas provide heated towels, which give you that fuzzy feeling that all is right with the world as you wrap yourself up. If you love the luxury of warm towels, perhaps consider investing in a towel warmer. Alternatively, you can go with the hands-on option of wetting a towel, wringing out the excess water and placing it on a dish in a microwave to heat it up.

4. Invest in quality products

Spas shower you with their best products in order for you to feel pampered like royalty. Even if you don’t wish to spend exorbitant amounts money decking out your bathroom, consider investing in quality essentials like bath bombs, shower tablets, exfoliating body scrubs and face masks.

5. Set a calming tune

To add the final touch to your home spa, set some light music to create a soothing atmosphere. It doesn’t have to be classical music, but it shouldn’t be all rock songs either. The idea is to select a playlist of songs that never fail to put you at ease, and keep the music to a low or medium volume so that the sound doesn’t get too overwhelming. Nature songs are a popular go-to as well!

An at-home spa experience can be a wonderful addition to your home. Not only do you enjoy the added convenience of an on-demand spa session without the hassle of advance booking, but you also save a pretty penny as well!
